The Mysterious Grave Of Caroline Christine Walter

The Mysterious Grave Of Caroline Christine Walter

Fresh flowers mysteriously appear daily on the grave of this 17-year-old beautiful girl who died in 1867.

Here is a very famous story on the internet. It’s been circulating for years, captivating readers everywhere it is posted.

The story is as follows :

Caroline Christine Walker was born in 1850 in Germany. She had a sister named Selma who loved her very much. Caroline and Selma were living in the city of Freiburg in Germany with Selma’s husband. The girl’s parents died when they were young.

In 1867, 16-year-old Caroline fell ill with Tuberculosis and died. Her death shattered Selma. The heartbroken sister hired a sculptor to design a grave that would reflect the life and essence of her beloved sister, who fate had snatched away from her at a very tender age.

(There are very subtle variations in the story. We expect that when a story gets passed on around the internet. But overall, this is the most agreed-upon version.)

The grave:

Caroline lies in her bed sleeping peacefully, with her hand stretched out, holding an open book. There is an inscription on the book that says:

It is certain in God’s wisdom that from our dearest loved one we must part.

The Mystery of the Grave

Since 1867, fresh flowers mysteriously appear on Caroline’s grave every day. For a long time, the belief was that Caroline had a secret lover who visited the grave every day and placed the flowers. Or it was just her sister. But it has been almost 150 hundred years, and flowers continue to appear, giving birth to the story of the mysterious grave of Caroline Christine Walker. The graveyard attendants say they have no clue.

People have gone as far as to speculate about Caroline having a vampire lover(vampires are immortal) who has been placing the flowers on her grave.

Solving the Mystery

The grave is now a tourist attraction for its mystery. And the people of the small city are in no mood to let it die. It seems people place whatever they can find around them on the grave to keep the mystery alive.

In most of the pictures you find of the grave, you will see something on the grave: a flower, a bunch of flowers, leaves, or an inflorescence. Sometimes everything together.

One person cannot be bringing random its and bits of different plants to place on the grave. Rarely would you find a fresh bouquet of flowers on her grave in the pictures.

But, even if fresh flowers appear on her grave every other day, who is placing them and why?

A plausible explanation :

Did Selma set up a trust account to make sure her dear sister got her supply of fresh flowers even after Selma passed away?

Maybe, it’s just great-grandchildren of Selma honoring a family tradition she started. Or her deathbed wish.

Digging through the internet for information and evidence, I stumbled upon this very ordinary-looking but very impressive blog(10 million+ page views!) run by Joanne Casey.

Joanne writes in a post on 15th June 2021( Read here):

After I took these photos, I looked back over my shoulder to see two little girls on bikes looking around to see if they were being watched, then adding a fresh bouquet and pedaling away at speed. Joanne Casey

Joanne was at Caroline’s grave that day. Two girls, hoping not to be seen, added fresh flowers to the grave, and sped away on their bikes.

Were they related to Selma? Or were they just girls from the area having a little fun adding to the mystery? We don’ know, but hey, no vampire is bringing the flowers, so at least we solved that part of the mystery! :)

Thank you if you decide to follow me.

The Man From Taured

It is 1954. A Caucasian businessman arrives at Haneda Airport in Tokyo, for a conference. The man communicates in several languages including Japanese and professes to have been to Japan on various occasions.  Nothing appears to be strange until a customs official looks at his passport. The customs official is perplexed; he has never heard of the country the man's passport was issued from. It is from a country called Taured.  The official thinks he is simply uninformed and requests his manager to take a look at the passport. His manager does not recognize it either; none of the officials at the airport do. The passport looks genuine and has many stamps from different nations including Japan.  Clueless about a country called Taured, the custom officials request that the man show them where his country is on a world map. He highlights Andorra ( a little country among Spain and France) on the map. Whenever the officials let him know that the spot he pointed at was actually a...

The Leaping Lawyer - The Lawyer Who Plunged To His Death The Urban Legend You May Not Know Is Based On A Real Incident Photo by photo nic on  Unsplash You have probably heard of this Urban legend: A lawyer crashes himself into the window of his top-floor skyscraper office, only to find himself taking the aerial route to the ground floor. In other words- plunging to his death as the window gives way. The urban legend is not fiction. This incident indeed took place in Toronto in the year 1993. The fall guy(literally) was Garry Hoy, who worked as a corporate and securities law specialist on the 24th floor of the Toronto-Dominion Centre. Before you JUMP to conclusions, Garry Hoy was not drunk or high on any drugs. He was not stupid, and he was not possessed either.  Garry Hoy - Source :  Link The 38-year-old was a successful lawyer at the Holden Day Wilson Law firm in Toronto.
